Trusting an Unknown Future to a Known God

trust

In the face of uncertainty, fear often grips our hearts. Yet, as Corrie ten Boom, a Holocaust survivor, wisely stated, “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” This profound truth invites us to place our trust in God, even when the path ahead is unclear. At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we are called to “Be the change as Jesus has changed us,” and we do this through “Just 3” – Study, Share, Serve. Let’s explore how we can trust God with our future and embrace His purpose for our lives.

The Promise of Psalm 23

Psalm 23 is a beloved passage that reassures us of God’s guidance and care. It promises that God will lead us through the darkest valleys, restore our souls, and guide us to greener pastures. This psalm reminds us that we are not alone; God is with us, orchestrating our journey according to His perfect plan.

Study: Discovering God’s Purpose

To trust God with our future, we must first understand His purpose for our lives. This begins with studying His Word. The Bible is filled with stories of individuals who trusted God despite uncertainty. By immersing ourselves in Scripture, we gain insight into God’s character and His plans for us. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

Share: Encouraging Others in Faith

Sharing our journey of faith with others is a powerful way to encourage and uplift. When we share how God has guided us through uncertain times, we inspire others to trust Him as well. Hebrews 10:24-25 urges us to “consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another.” By sharing our experiences, we build a community of faith that supports and strengthens each other.

Serve: Living Out God’s Purpose

Serving others is a tangible expression of our trust in God’s plan. Jesus exemplified servanthood, and as His followers, we are called to do the same. Galatians 5:13 reminds us, “For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” When we serve, we become the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing His love and hope to those around us.

Conclusion

As we navigate the uncertainties of life, let us remember that we are not alone. God is with us, guiding us and leading us according to His perfect plan. At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we are committed to “Be the change as Jesus has changed us” through “Just 3” – Study, Share, Serve. By trusting in God’s purpose, sharing our faith, and serving others, we can experience the fullness of His blessings and be a light in the world.
