Finding Peace in the Midst of Life’s Storms

peace

Life is full of storms, both literal and metaphorical. At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we believe that true peace comes from knowing Jesus, even when the storms of life rage around us. Our mission to “Be the change as Jesus has changed us” calls us to find peace in Him and share that peace with others.

Study: Jesus’ Authority Over the Storms

In Luke 8:22-25, we see Jesus calming the storm, demonstrating His authority over nature. This story reminds us that while Jesus can calm the storms in our lives, He may also choose to give us peace amidst them. As the sermon highlighted, being with Jesus doesn’t always mean safety or ease, but it is always best. Hebrews 11:1 teaches us that faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Our faith in Jesus allows us to trust Him, even when the outcome is uncertain.

Share: Encouraging Others Through Our Faith

The peace we find in Jesus is not meant to be kept to ourselves. By sharing our experiences and how Jesus has brought us peace, we can encourage others who are facing their own storms. As 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 reminds us, we are comforted by God so that we can comfort others. At Lakeview Christian Church, we encourage you to share your story and be a source of hope for those around you.

Serve: Being a Beacon of Peace

Serving others during their storms is a powerful way to demonstrate the peace of Christ. Whether it’s through prayer, offering support, or meeting practical needs, our actions can be a beacon of hope. Matthew 5:14-16 calls us to be the light of the world, shining brightly in the darkness. By serving, we embody the love of Christ and bring His peace to those in need.

Conclusion: As we navigate the storms of life, let us find our peace in Jesus and share that peace with others. Through studying His word, sharing our testimonies, and serving those around us, we can “Be the change” and make a lasting impact. Join us at Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes as we live out this mission together.
