Seeking God’s Best: Embracing True Love and Peace

peace

In a world that often encourages us to settle for less, God invites us to seek His best for our lives. As we learned in a recent sermon at Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, God offers us true love and peace that surpasses all understanding. By embracing these gifts, we can experience the fullness of life that He desires for us.

Settling for Less: A Common Struggle

Many of us struggle with the tendency to settle for less than what God offers. We may seek the approval of others, material security, or temporary pleasures, hoping to find fulfillment. Yet, as the sermon reminded us, these things can never satisfy the deepest longings of our hearts.

God offers us something far greater: His unconditional agape love and peace. No matter how many times we mess up, He is there for us, calling us His children. Instead of seeking the approval of others, we are invited to rest in the assurance of God’s love. Scripture Reference: Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

God’s Unconditional Love and Peace

God’s love is not based on our performance or achievements; it is a gift freely given. His peace is not dependent on our circumstances; it is a peace that surpasses all understanding. When we embrace these gifts, we can experience true freedom and joy.

In the sermon, we were encouraged to seek a deeper relationship with God, who calls us His children. By doing so, we can experience the fullness of His love and peace in our lives. Scripture Reference: Philippians 4:7 – “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Serve: Love in Action

As we embrace God’s love and peace, we are called to serve others as an expression of our faith. Love in action is a powerful testimony to the transformative power of the Gospel. By serving others, we can share the love of Jesus and make a difference in the world.

At Lakeview Christian Church, we are committed to serving our community and beyond. We believe that by serving others, we can be the change as Jesus has changed us. Scripture Reference: Galatians 5:13 – “For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”

Conclusion

God invites us to seek His best for our lives by embracing His love and peace. As we do so, we are called to serve others and to be a light in the world. We invite you to join Lakeview Christian Church in living out the resurrection through service and love, and to be the change as Jesus has changed us.
