🍯 Some things can’t be learned secondhand. You can read every review of a restaurant, but until you taste the meal yourself, you don’t really know.
Psalm 34 says knowing God is the same way. We’re staying in Summer in the Psalms this Sunday with Psalm 34 — written by David from one of the lowest moments of his life, when he was on the run, afraid, and out of options. He didn’t come out of it boasting in his own escape. He came out of it with a song.
🙌 “I will bless the Lord at all times” — praise isn’t a mood, it’s a decision that doesn’t wait for circumstances to cooperate
🛡️ “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him” — God’s people are surrounded, never abandoned
🍯 “Taste and see that the Lord is good” — faith isn’t just head knowledge, it’s experienced for yourself
💔 “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit” — He draws closest in the valley, not the mountaintop
🕊️ “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all” — the storms come, but so does the refuge So here’s the invitation this week: stop admiring God’s goodness from a distance, and come experience it for yourself. Bring Him your fears. Cry out to Him. Take refuge in the One who hears, draws near, and redeems.
