Unity is a call to all believers

Scripture Reading

Ephesians 2

Summary of the Sermon

In his sermon, Jim speaks about the power of stories in our lives and how we are part of a larger, divine narrative. God’s story is the grandest of all, beginning in Genesis and continuing through the New Testament. The creation story emphasizes God’s creativity and His desire for unity among His creation. However, humanity’s fall introduced division and brokenness into the world.

Jim reminds us that despite our flaws and failures, God’s grace offers us new life through Jesus Christ. This grace unifies us, transcending our differences and bringing us together as one body. Unity is not only God’s dream but also a call to action for the church. As we embrace this unity, we reflect God’s love and grace to the world around us. Unity is crucial for building strong, loving communities that reflect God’s kingdom on earth.

The sermon also emphasizes that togetherness does not mean uniformity but rather celebrating diversity within the body of Christ. Each person’s unique gifts and perspectives are vital to the health and growth of the church. By embracing unity, we demonstrate to the world the transformative power of God’s love and grace, inviting others to join in His grand story.
