The Missed Moment: Recognizing the Presence of Christ

moment

In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to miss the presence of Christ in our lives. The sermon highlights a poignant moment where soldiers, standing at the foot of the cross, were too preoccupied to recognize the significance of the event unfolding before them. This serves as a powerful reminder for us today to remain vigilant and aware of Christ’s presence in our daily lives.

The Tragedy of Familiarity

The soldiers were so familiar with the routine of crucifixion that they failed to see the divine moment before them. This familiarity can be a barrier to experiencing the transformative power of Christ. Hebrews 12:2 encourages us to “fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” By keeping our focus on Christ, we can avoid the trap of becoming desensitized to His presence and work in our lives.

Share: Building Awareness and Connection

At Lakeview Christian Church, we are called to “Share” as part of our mission. By sharing our lives and stories, we help each other recognize and celebrate the presence of Christ in our midst. Acts 2:42-47 illustrates the early church’s commitment to fellowship and sharing, which fostered a deep sense of community and awareness. Through sharing, we build connections that open our eyes to the divine moments that surround us.

Awakening to the Divine in Everyday Life

Let us not be like the soldiers who missed the moment. Instead, let us cultivate an awareness of Christ’s presence in our daily lives. Through prayer, reflection, and community, we can open our eyes to the divine moments that surround us. Colossians 3:16 encourages us to “let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”

Conclusion

Join us at Lakeview Christian Church as we strive to “Be the change” through sharing. Together, we can awaken to the presence of Christ and support one another in our spiritual journeys. By sharing our lives and stories, we create a community that is attuned to the work of God in our midst. Let us be vigilant and aware, recognizing the presence of Christ in every moment and sharing His love with the world.
