Being a Faithful Steward of God’s Gifts: A Call to Action

steward

At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we are called to be faithful stewards of the time, talents, and resources God has entrusted to us. Our mission, “Be the change as Jesus has changed us,” challenges us to use these gifts to make a lasting impact on the world.

Understanding Stewardship

Stewardship is about managing what God has given us in a way that honors Him. As 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV) states, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” Recognizing that everything we have is a gift from God helps us approach life with gratitude and responsibility.

Practical Steps to Faithful Stewardship:

  1. Study: Reflect on how you can use your gifts for God’s glory. Seek guidance through prayer and Scripture to discern His will. Regular study of the Bible helps us understand God’s expectations and equips us to fulfill our roles as stewards.
  2. Share: Engage with your community and share your resources to support those in need. Hebrews 13:16 (NIV) encourages us, “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” By sharing our blessings, we extend God’s love and build stronger communities.
  3. Serve: Volunteer your time and talents in church ministries and outreach programs. By serving others, we demonstrate God’s love in action. Consider joining one of the many service opportunities at Lakeview Christian Church, where you can make a difference in the lives of others.

Conclusion: Our time on earth is precious and short. By being faithful stewards, we can ensure that our lives have a lasting impact, pointing others to Christ. Let us commit to using our gifts wisely, so that one day, others may say, “Because of your life, my trajectory was changed forever.” At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we invite you to join us in this mission of stewardship and transformation.
