The Choice of Faith: All In or All Out

choice

Persecution and trials are uncomfortable, yet they present us with a crucial choice: Will we put our faith in Jesus, or will we rely on our own strength? At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we are inspired by the Thessalonians, who chose to be “all in” with Jesus, even when faced with persecution.

Scripture Reference:

  • James 1:2-4 – “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Faith is not a part-time commitment; it requires us to fully trust in Jesus. The Thessalonians understood this, and their unwavering faith became a testimony to others. Are we living a life that reflects this same commitment? Are we “all in” with Jesus, or are we holding back?

Mission Alignment: Share
Our mission to “Share” is about knowing and loving others by sharing the hope we have in Christ. In times of trial, our faith can be a powerful witness to those around us. By sharing our stories and the hope we have in Jesus, we can encourage others to place their trust in Him.

Call to Action:
Let’s commit to sharing our faith with those around us. Whether through words or actions, let us be a light in the darkness, pointing others to the hope and strength found in Jesus Christ.
