At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, our mission is to be the change as Jesus has changed us. Through “Just 3″—Study, Share, Serve—we seek to deepen our relationship with God and others. One of the profound truths we embrace is that God may not remove our doubts immediately, but He reveals His faithfulness in many ways, often through the everyday miracles we might overlook.
In the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth, we see a couple who, despite their doubts, experienced God’s faithfulness. Zechariah doubted the angel’s message due to his and Elizabeth’s advanced age, yet God fulfilled His promise. This narrative teaches us that it’s okay to question, but we must remember that God’s promises are not contingent on our understanding.
God’s faithfulness often manifests in the “still small voice” moments of life. These are the unexpected instances where we see a sunset, a sunrise, or a seemingly small miracle that speaks to us personally. In 1 Kings 19:11-12, Elijah experiences God’s presence not in the wind, earthquake, or fire, but in a gentle whisper. Similarly, God often speaks to us in subtle ways, reminding us of His presence and faithfulness.
At Lakeview Christian Church, we encourage our community to be attentive to these moments. Through our “Study” initiative, we immerse ourselves in Scripture, learning to recognize God’s voice and His work in our lives. Psalm 119:105 tells us, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” As we study, we become more attuned to the ways God is working, even when we don’t immediately see it.
Our “Share” initiative is about spreading the stories of God’s faithfulness. By sharing our experiences of God’s subtle miracles, we encourage others to look for His hand in their lives. Hebrews 10:24-25 urges us to “consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, but encouraging one another.” Sharing our stories is a powerful way to build each other’s faith.
In our “Serve” initiative, we put love into action, trusting that God is working through us. Even when we doubt our impact, we serve with the assurance that God is using our efforts for His purposes. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
In conclusion, recognizing God’s faithfulness in everyday miracles is a journey of faith and trust. At Lakeview Christian Church, we strive to be the change by studying, sharing, and serving. As we do, we open our hearts to see God’s hand in our lives, even in the smallest details. Let us continue to trust in His faithfulness, knowing that He is always present and always working.
