Love, Serve, and Care: Following Jesus’ Example

love

At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, our mission is to “Be the change as Jesus has changed us.” This mission calls us to love, serve, and care for others, following the example set by Jesus. In a world that often overlooks the needs of the vulnerable, we are called to be His hands and feet.

Study: The Compassion of Christ

Jesus’ life was marked by compassion and love for all people. In John 21:25, we are reminded that the world could not contain all the books that would be written about His deeds. This speaks to the vastness of His love and the countless acts of kindness He performed. Jesus’ compassion was not limited by societal norms; He reached out to the marginalized and the forgotten.

Share: Extending Love to Our Neighbors

As followers of Christ, we are called to share His love with those around us. This includes serving widows, retired moms, and neighbors who may feel isolated or in need of care. By taking the time to love and serve others, we reflect the heart of Jesus and demonstrate the transformative power of His love.

Serve: Being the Hands and Feet of Jesus

Service is a core component of our mission at Lakeview. We are encouraged to take action, whether it’s spending time with someone who needs companionship or offering practical help to those in need. By serving others, we embody the love of Christ and fulfill our calling as His disciples.

Conclusion

The story of Jesus continues through us as we love, serve, and care for others. At Lakeview Christian Church, we are committed to being the change as Jesus has changed us. Let us embrace this mission with open hearts, ready to make a difference in the lives of those around us.
