Do You Understand How Much God Loves You?
There’s a question I find myself coming back to often, both in my personal walk and in our life together as a church: Do you understand how deeply, how fiercely, God loves you? At Lakeview Christian Church, we talk about “being the change”—but that change starts with grasping the unshakeable love of our Heavenly Father.
No matter your circumstance, whether you’re on the mountaintop or feeling like you’re wandering through a valley, God is present. He’s not distant or disinterested. He’s a good Father, here for you in every circumstance—even when you can’t see Him, even when life doesn’t make sense, even when the outcome isn’t what you want.
“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” (1 John 3:1, ESV)
God’s Power and Wisdom—Even When It’s Uncomfortable
The truth is, God is powerful enough to do whatever He wants. Sometimes, that means He delivers us out of hard situations. Other times, He lets us endure, shaping us through the trial. Both are acts of love. He does what is best for us, even if it’s uncomfortable or not what we would choose for ourselves.
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28, ESV)
This is the foundation of faith that Abraham stood on. He didn’t trust God because life was easy or predictable. He trusted because he’d seen, over and over, that God keeps His promises. God’s faithfulness isn’t just a theory—it’s proven, time and again, in Scripture and in our stories.
Faith That Moves—James’ Challenge to Us
James presses us to a practical question: If God is this faithful, what does that mean for our lives? What is our leap of faith? Thankfully, James doesn’t leave us guessing. He spells it out: faith isn’t just a belief or a feeling—it’s something that moves us to action, specifically to love.
“So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” (James 2:17, ESV)
“If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself,’ you are doing well.” (James 2:8, ESV)
At Lakeview: “Be the Change” in Real Life
At Lakeview Christian Church, we believe that being the change means putting love into action. We don’t just want to talk about faith; we want to live it out in a way that makes a real difference in our homes, neighborhoods, and city.
Our “Just 3” Approach: Study, Share, Serve
- Study: We study to love and know God. Like Abraham, we root ourselves in God’s promises and character. We encourage everyone to dive deep into Scripture—to wrestle with it, to ask questions, to let it shape you.“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105, ESV)
- Share: We share to know and love others. Faith grows when we step beyond our comfort zones and build real relationships. Sharing our stories, our struggles, and our faith is how we love our neighbors and invite them into God’s family.“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11, ESV)
- Serve: We serve—love in action. James says love isn’t just a word. It’s meeting needs, bearing burdens, and showing up for people, especially when it costs us something. Serving is where faith gets its hands dirty, where grace becomes visible.“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” (1 John 3:18, ESV)
What’s Your Leap?
So here’s my question to you, church: What’s your leap? Where is God asking you to trust Him—not just with words, but with action? Maybe it’s reaching out to someone who’s hurting, or forgiving someone who’s wronged you. Maybe it’s serving in a new way, or simply loving your neighbor as yourself.
Remember: the leap isn’t about how strong your faith is—it’s about how strong and loving our God is. He’s proven His faithfulness. Now, let’s respond by loving, sharing, and serving in His name.
At Lakeview Christian Church, let’s be the change as Jesus has changed us. Let’s study, share, and serve—love in action, faith made real.
