Love is not an option and how we view and treat one another is revealing about what we believe about God. He gives a direct commandment “Love one another as I have loved you.” These words, spoken by Jesus to his followers in John 13, reverberate with profound significance, challenging us to embody a love that transcends boundaries and transforms lives.
As Jim’s sermon powerfully articulates, true faith is characterized by a love that knows no limits. It’s not a love confined to certain circumstances or reserved for particular individuals—it’s a love that permeates every aspect of our being, shaping how we interact with one another on a daily basis. It’s a love that sacrifices forgives, and embraces, mirroring the unconditional love demonstrated by Jesus Christ himself.
But what does this love look like in practice? It’s easy to profess love in moments of joy and celebration, but the true test lies in how we treat and see one another in the midst of life’s challenges and complexities.
