All Creation Declares: Holy, Holy, Holy
In Revelation chapter 4, the apostle John receives a breathtaking vision of heaven’s throne room. There, he witnesses creatures representing all of creation singing God’s praise without ceasing: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come” (Revelation 4:8). This isn’t just a beautiful worship song—it’s the eternal declaration of God’s worthiness that should transform how we live every single day.
God Is Worthy of All Praise
The heavenly creatures continue their proclamation: “You are worthy, O Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being” (Revelation 4:11). This truth should frame our entire perspective on life.
God was, is, and will be. He is the constant in an ever-changing world. He is the unchanging anchor when everything around us shifts. He is the eternal God who remains faithful across generations. This makes Him uniquely worthy of our praise and worship.
What Does “Holy” Really Mean?
When creation declares “Holy, holy, holy,” they’re proclaiming something profound: God is set apart. He is not like anything or anyone else. He is completely other, transcendent, perfect in every way. There is no comparison, no equal, no substitute.
This holiness isn’t just an attribute of God—it’s the essence of who He is. And because He is holy, He alone deserves to sit on the throne of our hearts and lives.
The Challenge: Who Sits on Your Throne?
Here’s where this heavenly vision becomes intensely personal. At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, our mission is to be the change as Jesus has changed us through “Just 3”: Study to love and know God, Share to know and love others, and Serve as love in action. But none of this is possible if Jesus isn’t crowned as King of our lives.
The uncomfortable truth is that we often place ourselves on the throne. We make decisions based on our preferences, our comfort, our plans. We worship God on Sunday but live for ourselves Monday through Saturday. We sing “Holy, holy, holy” with our lips while our hearts remain divided.
Humble Yourself and Crown Jesus King
The call this morning is clear: May we all humble ourselves. May we orient our lives so that we are not sitting on the thrones of our own lives. Instead, may we crown Jesus and put Him right where He needs to be—glorified on the throne of our lives and hearts.
This isn’t a one-time decision. It’s a daily surrender. It’s waking up each morning and saying, “Jesus, You are Lord. Not my plans, but Yours. Not my will, but Yours. Not my glory, but Yours.”
Practical Steps to Crown Jesus Today
Study God’s Word to understand His character and will. When we know who God truly is—holy, eternal, worthy—we’re more likely to surrender control to Him.
Share in authentic worship with other believers. Join us at Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes where we gather to declare God’s worthiness together.
Serve others sacrificially as an act of worship. When Jesus is truly King, our lives reflect His love in action toward those around us.
The Eternal Perspective
All of creation—from the smallest atom to the largest galaxy—exists to declare God’s glory. The question is: Will you join that chorus? Will you add your voice to the eternal song of “Holy, holy, holy”?
When we crown Jesus as King, we discover what we were created for. We find purpose, peace, and the abundant life He promises. We become the change we long to see because Jesus has changed us from the inside out.
Join us at Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes as we worship the One who is holy, eternal, and worthy of all praise. Let’s humble ourselves together and crown Jesus King of our lives.
