Embracing Our Mission: Living Out the Resurrection

mission

At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we are called to live out the transformative power of the resurrection in our daily lives. As believers, we are not meant to remain in the shadows of fear and doubt, but to step boldly into our purpose and mission, just as Mary and the disciples did after encountering the risen Christ.

Finding Purpose and Mission

The resurrection of Jesus is not just a historical event; it is a call to action for every believer. Jim’s message reminds us that we must not hide in fear or doubt, but instead, embrace our mission to share the love of Jesus with the world. In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commissions us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey His commands. This Great Commission is our purpose and mission as followers of Christ.

At Lakeview, we encourage every believer to find their unique purpose within this mission. Whether it’s through sharing your testimony, serving in a ministry, or reaching out to those in need, there are countless ways to be the change as Jesus has changed us. Our “Just 3” initiative—Study, Share, Serve—provides a framework for living out this mission in practical ways.

The Power of the Cross

For those seeking a new life, the message of the cross offers hope and transformation. At the foot of the cross, we find power to free, cleanse, and forgive—even the prodigal. Romans 8:1 assures us that “there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” No sin is too great to be forgiven, and no life is beyond redemption.

The new covenant, established by Jesus during the Last Supper, is a powerful reminder of His sacrifice and love. When He broke the bread and shared the cup, He offered us a tangible symbol of His body broken and His blood poured out for our forgiveness. As we partake in communion, we remember His sacrifice and the new life it brings.

Living Out the Resurrection

As we embrace the resurrection, let us live out its truth in our everyday lives. For those who already believe, it’s time to step into your purpose and mission. For those seeking change, ask yourself, “Do I really believe?” and take hold of the power and forgiveness offered at the cross.

At Lakeview Christian Church, we are committed to being the change as Jesus has changed us. Through studying God’s Word, sharing our faith, and serving others, we embody the love and grace of Christ. Let us go forth with confidence, knowing that in Christ, we are free, forgiven, and empowered to make a difference in the world.

Together, let us proclaim the life-changing message of the resurrection and live out our mission with purpose and passion. Because He lives, we can face tomorrow with hope and joy, and we are called to share that hope with a world in need.
