The Power of God’s Word and Miracles

power

At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we believe in the transformative power of God’s Word and the miracles He performs. Our mission is to “Be the change as Jesus has changed us” through “Just 3” – Study, Share, Serve. Today, we delve into the incredible truth that when God speaks, it is done, and how this truth impacts our faith and actions.

Study: The Creative Power of God’s Word The Bible is filled with accounts of God’s miraculous works, from the creation of the world to the resurrection of Jesus. In Genesis 1, we see the power of God’s Word as He speaks creation into existence. Psalm 33:9 affirms, “For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.” This creative power is a testament to God’s sovereignty and authority.

In the New Testament, we see this power manifested in the life of Jesus. In John 1:1-3, we read, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” Jesus, the living Word, embodies the power and authority of God.

Share: Believing in Miracles and Sharing Our Faith The angel Gabriel’s message to Mary was a call to believe in the miraculous. “Do you believe in miracles?” he essentially asked. This question challenges us to trust in God’s power and to share our faith with others. At Lakeview Christian Church, we are committed to sharing the good news of Jesus and the miracles He performs in our lives.

In Mark 9:23, Jesus says, “Everything is possible for one who believes.” This promise encourages us to have faith in God’s ability to do the impossible. As we share our testimonies and experiences, we inspire others to believe in the power of God and to trust in His miraculous works.

Serve: Acting in Faith and Trusting God’s Plan Believing in God’s power compels us to act in faith. When we serve others, we demonstrate our trust in God’s ability to work through us. Even when the task seems daunting, we can rely on God’s strength and guidance.

In James 2:17, we read, “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” Our faith is made alive through our actions, as we serve and love others in Jesus’ name. At Lakeview Christian Church, we encourage everyone to serve, trusting that God will use our efforts to accomplish His purposes.

Conclusion: The power of God’s Word and the miracles He performs are a testament to His sovereignty and love. At Lakeview Christian Church, we are committed to studying His Word, sharing our faith, and serving others. As we believe in God’s power and act in faith, we become agents of change in the world. Let us be the change as Jesus has changed us, confident in the miraculous power of God.
