Walking in the Light: Reflecting Christ Daily

walk

At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, our mission is to be the change as Jesus has changed us. This transformation calls us to walk in the light, reflecting Christ in our daily actions. Jim’s sermon challenged us to examine our lives and ensure we are living as children of the light.

The Call to Walk in the Light

Walking in the light means living in holiness and righteousness, as Ephesians 5:8-9 instructs, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.” This involves rejecting the darkness of sin and embracing the light of Christ.

Study: Knowing the Light of Christ

To walk in the light, we must first know the light. This begins with studying Scripture and understanding the character of Christ. John 8:12 records Jesus saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” By studying His Word, we learn to reflect His light.

Share: Reflecting Christ to Others

Jim’s sermon emphasized the importance of reflecting Christ in our interactions with others. By living in the light, we become beacons of hope and love. Matthew 5:16 encourages us, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Serve: Love in Action

Walking in the light also involves serving others. By putting love into action, we demonstrate the transformative power of Christ’s light. 1 John 3:18 urges us, “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”

Conclusion Walking in the light means living intentionally as followers of Christ. By studying His Word, sharing His love, and serving others, we fulfill our mission to be the change. Let us commit to living as children of the light, reflecting the love and hope of Christ in all we do.
