5 Day Devotionals
Summer in the Psalms – Week 15
Day 1: Praise as the Bookends of Life
Read: Psalm 150:1-6
Reflection:
The Book of Psalms starts and ends with praise. After all the sorrow, victory, fear, and faith, the final word is, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” Our lives, like the Psalms, are meant to be bookended by praise to God—regardless of the season.
Prayer:
Lord, help me see praise not just as words I sing, but as the foundation and conclusion of each day. May my life, in its entirety, bring You honor.
Day 2: Every Instrument, Every Gift
Read: Romans 12:1
Reflection:
“Psalm 150 tells us to use what God has given you to praise the One who gave it.” Just as an orchestra is made up of many unique instruments, each of us is created with unique gifts. Praise is not limited to singing or playing music; it’s found in how we serve, encourage, teach, give, and love.
Consider:
What talents, resources, or opportunities has God placed in your hands? How can you use them today to glorify Him?
Prayer:
God, show me how to use my gifts—big or small—for Your glory. Let my daily actions be an instrument of praise.
Day 3: Praise Rooted in God’s Worthiness
Read: Psalm 150:2, John 8:29
Reflection:
“We don’t praise God merely because life is going well… We praise God because He’s worthy of our praise.” True worship is anchored in God’s character, not our circumstances. Jesus said, “I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.” Our call is to model this life of surrender—not just in the good times, but always.
Consider:
Are there areas where your praise depends on your mood or circumstances? How can you anchor your worship in who God is?
Prayer:
Father, help me praise You for Your mighty deeds and excellent greatness, no matter what I face.
Day 4: A Life of Worship Beyond Sunday
Read: Romans 12:1-2
Reflection:
“Praise is the life that we live for God.” Worship is not reserved for a Sunday morning or a church pew—it’s found in the classroom, the kitchen, the office, the car, and every moment where our lives reflect God’s heart.
Consider:
What would it look like to offer your daily routine, work, and relationships as an act of worship?
Prayer:
Lord, let my hands, words, and choices today be an offering of worship to You.
Day 5: Let Everything That Has Breath Praise the Lord
Read: Psalm 150:6
Reflection:
“Let everything, everything and everyone that has breath praise the Lord.” Praise is not for the “professionals” or the “put-together.” If you have breath, you have a reason and a calling to praise God. Your life, surrendered to Him, becomes a living symphony of worship.
Consider:
How can you make praise your posture today—in both quiet moments and public places?
Prayer:
God, with every breath, I want to praise You. May my life point others to Jesus and testify to Your greatness.
Closing Thought:
Worship is more than music—it’s a life wholly surrendered to God. This week, may your praise echo through every action, word, and breath.
