Day 1: The Cold Reception vs. Warm Devotion

Scripture: Luke 7:36-39

Reflection: In the story of Jesus dining at Simon the Pharisee’s house, we see a stark contrast between Simon’s cold reception and the woman’s warm devotion. Simon, despite inviting Jesus, fails to offer basic hospitality, reflecting his contempt. In contrast, the woman, a known sinner, approaches Jesus with humility and love, washing His feet with her tears. Consider how we sometimes fail to recognize Jesus in our lives due to pride or self-righteousness. How can you show genuine devotion to Jesus today?

Prayer: Lord, help me to recognize Your presence in my life and respond with love and humility. May I never let pride blind me to Your grace. Amen.

Day 2: The Woman’s Heartfelt Worship

Scripture: Luke 7:37-38

Reflection: The woman’s actions were shocking and intimate, yet they were a true expression of her repentance and love for Jesus. Her worship was heartfelt and sacrificial, demonstrating her understanding of who Jesus is. Reflect on your own worship. Is it heartfelt and genuine? How can you express your love for Jesus more deeply?

Prayer: Jesus, teach me to worship You with a sincere heart. Let my actions reflect my love and gratitude for Your grace. Amen.

Day 3: Forgiveness Fuels Love

Scripture: Luke 7:40-47

Reflection: Jesus tells the parable of the two debtors to illustrate that those who are forgiven much, love much. The woman’s great love was a response to the forgiveness she received. Consider how forgiveness fuels your love for others. Are there areas in your life where you need to extend or receive forgiveness?

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your forgiveness. Help me to extend that same grace to others and let my love be a reflection of Your mercy. Amen.

Day 4: Peace Through Forgiveness

Scripture: Luke 7:48-50

Reflection: Jesus declares the woman’s sins forgiven, granting her peace. This peace is not just emotional but a full restoration with God. Reflect on the peace that comes from knowing you are forgiven. How does this peace change your perspective and interactions with others?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the peace that comes from Your forgiveness. Help me to live in that peace and share it with those around me. Amen.

Day 5: A New Identity in Christ

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17

Reflection: The woman left with a new identity, no longer defined by her past but by her faith in Jesus. In Christ, we are new creations. Reflect on your identity in Christ. How does knowing you are a new creation affect your daily life and decisions?

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for making me a new creation. Help me to live out my new identity, free from the past and full of hope for the future. Amen.
