Day 1: The Courage to Question

Scripture: Luke 7:18-20

Reflection: In our walk with God, it’s natural to have questions. Even John the Baptist, a great prophet, questioned whether Jesus was truly the Messiah. His circumstances—imprisonment and unmet expectations—led him to doubt. This teaches us that questioning is not a sign of weak faith but a part of growing faith. When we face trials, it’s okay to ask God the hard questions. He welcomes our inquiries and meets them with compassion and truth.

Prayer: Lord, give me the courage to bring my questions to You. Help me to trust that You are big enough to handle my doubts and that You will guide me to the truth. Amen.

Day 2: Doubt in the Darkness

Scripture: Psalm 13:1-2

Reflection: Like John, we may find ourselves in a “dark night of the soul,” where our faith collides with our reality. During these times, doubt can creep in. But remember, doubt is not the absence of faith. It’s an opportunity to deepen our trust in God. The Psalms are filled with laments, showing us that it’s okay to cry out to God in our confusion and pain.

Prayer: Father, in my moments of doubt and darkness, help me to hold onto Your promises. Remind me that You are with me, even when I cannot see the way ahead. Amen.

Day 3: Compassion in the Truth

Scripture: Luke 7:21-23

Reflection: Jesus responded to John’s doubts not with condemnation but with compassion. He demonstrated His identity through acts of healing and mercy, fulfilling the prophecies of Isaiah. Jesus shows us that He is the Messiah who brings redemption and restoration, not necessarily in the ways we expect. His ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for Your compassion and truth. Help me to see Your work in my life, even when it doesn’t align with my expectations. Teach me to trust in Your perfect plan. Amen.

Day 4: Praise for the Faithful

Scripture: Luke 7:24-28

Reflection: Despite John’s doubts, Jesus praised him as a great prophet. This reminds us that our doubts do not disqualify us from God’s love or purpose. Jesus honors those who trust Him, even when it’s hard. In our own “prisons” of pain or confusion, we can cling to His promises and remain faithful, knowing that He is still working.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for honoring my faith, even when it wavers. Help me to remain steadfast in my trust in You, knowing that You are faithful to fulfill Your promises. Amen.

Day 5: Trusting the Engineer

Scripture: Isaiah 55:8-9

Reflection: God’s ways are often surprising and beyond our understanding, but they are always faithful. Like Corrie Ten Boom said, when life gets dark, we don’t abandon our faith. Instead, we trust the “Engineer” who guides us through the tunnels of life. Let us hold onto the truth that God’s plans are for our good, even when we cannot see the full picture.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I trust You as the Engineer of my life. Help me to remain faithful and patient, knowing that Your ways are higher and better than mine. Amen.
