The Heart of the Gospel: Reconnecting with the Father through Jesus

One of the most important truths in the Gospel is that through Jesus Christ, we are reconnected to the Father. This reconnection is the ultimate act of God’s Amazing Grace, showing His love for us in a way that is both profound and transformative. This love is not based on who we are or what we have done, but rather on who God is and what He has done for us through His son, Jesus Christ.

Paul, in his letters, emphasizes that this love is available to everyone, regardless of their background or credentials. In Galatians 3:28, Paul writes, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” This scripture highlights the inclusive nature of God’s love and the access we all have to Him. No longer do we need to be bound by specific rituals or locations; our worship and relationship with God transcend these boundaries. The Gospel is for all people there is no devising live to God.

This message was revolutionary at the time, particularly to the Jews who believed they had exclusive rights to God. Paul made it clear that through Jesus, everyone has full access to the Father. This democratization of faith was a radical departure from the religious exclusivity that had previously been the norm.

God’s extravagant love was demonstrated most powerfully through the gift of His son, Jesus. John 3:16 encapsulates this truth: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse is a cornerstone of the Christian faith, illustrating that Jesus is the savior we need, not necessarily the one we want. He came not to fulfill our every desire, but to meet our deepest need: reconciliation with God.

At Lakeview Christian Church, in Portage Lake, we believe that being like Jesus is our mission. This is summed up in our three key principles of sharing the gospel Study, Share, and Serve.

  1. Study: We delve deeply into the scriptures to understand the heart of Jesus’ teachings and to grow in our faith. This is where we find the truths that guide our lives and help us to live in a way that honors God.
  2. Share: We are committed to sharing the love of Jesus with others. This involves not just words, but actions that demonstrate God’s love in tangible ways.
  3. Serve: We follow Jesus’ example of servanthood by serving our community and those in need. This is an expression of our faith and our commitment to living out the Gospel.

In conclusion, the Gospel is all about God’s incredible love for us, a love that is inclusive, unconditional, and everlasting. Through Jesus, we have been given full access to the Father, an access that transforms our lives and our relationships with others. As we study, share, and serve, we embody the teachings of Jesus and spread His love to the world around us. This holistic approach to faith not only strengthens our own spiritual journey but also creates a ripple effect, touching lives and making a lasting impact in our communities. Living out the Gospel in this way is the true essence of being followers of Christ. It calls us to be agents of God’s love and grace, actively working to bring healing and hope to a broken world. By embracing this mission, we honor God’s extravagant gift and make His love known to all, and experience it in it’s truest and greatest sense focused on Him and not ourselves.
