“Discovering the Undeserved Depths of God’s Grace and Mercy for True Unity in Christ”

In Jim’s sermon, we’re reminded of the incredible gifts that God freely bestows upon us. Undeserved gifts such as love, grace, and mercy. Not only does God give us these gifts, but He also raises us up with Christ to a position of honor and glory in the heavenly realms. As members of Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, understanding the depth of God’s grace should lead us to a place of unity, free from judgment and full of love.

Experiencing Unearned and Undeserved Blessings

The passage in Ephesians 2:4-9 speaks volumes about the nature of God’s love and grace. Despite our unworthiness, God showers us with His blessings. He not only gives us grace but also raises us up to a position of honor with Christ. This is a gift that cannot be earned through our own efforts. It is freely given out of God’s abundant love for us.

A Call to Faith and Trust

Receiving these gifts from God requires faith, trust, and belief in Jesus. We cannot earn our place in the heavenly realms through our works alone. It is only through faith in Christ that we can experience the fullness of God’s grace and mercy. This new life that we receive in Christ is a testament to God’s unfathomable love for us.

Undeserved Riches of God’s Grace

God’s grace is not limited to what we can comprehend. As Ephesians 2:7-9 reveals, God’s kindness and grace are immeasurable. Even as we receive these gifts, God promises to continue showing us the immeasurable riches of His grace in the coming ages. This overwhelming abundance of grace should humble us and fill us with gratitude for God’s goodness towards us.

Embracing Unity Through Grace

Understanding that we receive all good things from God—life, love, and grace—should lead us to a place of unity and solidarity with our fellow believers. When we recognize that none of us deserve God’s blessings, it becomes easier to extend grace and mercy to others. There is no room for judgment or superiority when we realize that we are all in need of God’s grace.

Moving Towards Unity

At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we are committed to moving towards a better life full of Jesus. Through our “Just 3” initiative—study, share, and serve—we aim to deepen our faith, share the gospel, and serve our community. Understanding that God’s grace is freely given to all should motivate us to extend that same grace to others, fostering unity and love within our church family. As we recognize we are all broken and do not deserve the blessing and acceptance we get from God, we strive to accept and love everyone in the same way He loves us.

A Call to Action

Let’s embrace the unmerited blessings that God showers upon us each and every day. Let’s live lives filled with gratitude for His grace and mercy. And let’s extend that same grace to others, creating a community of love and unity that reflects the heart of God.

As we journey together, may we always remember that it is by grace that we have been saved through faith. Let’s continue to grow in our understanding of God’s grace and mercy, and may it lead us to a place of true unity in Christ.

Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes invites you to join us in this journey of grace and unity. Together, let’s embrace the unearned blessings of God and share His love with those around us.
