Living a Purposeful Life Through Faithful Work

purpose

At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we are committed to “Be the change as Jesus has changed us.” This mission is embodied through “Just 3” – Study, Share, Serve. In a recent sermon, Jim emphasized the importance of living a purposeful life, a message that resonates deeply with our mission and the teachings of the Apostle Paul.

Study: Understanding Our Purpose in Christ

The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Thessalonians, urged believers to live responsibly and productively. He reminded them, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). This scripture highlights that our lives are not meant to be idle but filled with purpose and action. By studying God’s Word, we learn that our purpose is to reflect His love and grace through our actions. This understanding transforms our daily tasks into acts of worship, as we recognize that every moment is an opportunity to glorify God.

Share: Encouraging Others to Live Purposefully

Living a purposeful life is not just about personal fulfillment; it’s about inspiring others to do the same. In our community, we encourage one another to engage actively in our jobs, families, and ministries. Sharing our experiences and testimonies can motivate others to pursue their God-given purpose. As we share, we fulfill the command to “spur one another on toward love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24). This communal encouragement creates a ripple effect, where each person’s commitment to purpose inspires others to seek and fulfill their own calling.

Serve: Purposeful Living Through Service

Service is a tangible expression of living with purpose. At Lakeview Christian Church, we engage in various service projects, from local outreach to global missions. These acts of service are not just tasks but opportunities to live out our faith actively. By serving others, we demonstrate the love of Christ and fulfill our calling to be His hands and feet in the world. Whether it’s volunteering at a local shelter, participating in a mission trip, or simply helping a neighbor in need, each act of service is a step toward living a life of purpose.

Conclusion:

Living a purposeful life requires diligence and faithfulness. As we study God’s Word, share our lives with others, and serve our community, we embody the change that Jesus has made in us. Let us continue to live with purpose, knowing that our efforts are not in vain but are part of God’s greater plan. At Lakeview Christian Church, we are committed to being the change, and we invite you to join us in this journey of purposeful living.
