Many of us treat Jesus like a visitor in our homes. We might invite Him into the front porch or the living room, but we keep Him out of the more private areas of our lives. However, Jesus wants more than that. He wants to be in every room, in every corner, and in every aspect of our lives.

In Revelation 3:20, Jesus says, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” This verse is often used evangelistically, but its original context is a message to the church. Jesus is standing outside, knocking, wanting to come in and be a part of our lives. He doesn’t want to be left in the cold; He wants to be in our hearts, transforming us from within.

At Lakeview Christian Church, our mission is to “Be the Change” as Jesus has changed us. We do this through our “Just 3” approach: Study, Share, Serve.

1. Study: To love and know God, we must immerse ourselves in His Word. Studying the Bible helps us understand the depth of Jesus’ love and the nature of our relationship with Him. It equips us to grow in our friendship with Him.
2. Share: To know and love others, we must share our lives and our relationship with Jesus. True friendship with Jesus involves sharing His love and grace with those around us. It is through sharing that we build strong, enduring relationships.
3. Serve: Love in action is the ultimate expression of our friendship with Jesus. Serving others, especially in their times of need, is a powerful way to demonstrate our love and loyalty to Jesus. He said, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13).

Practical Steps to Let Jesus Into Every Corner of Your Life

1. Invite Him In: The first step is to invite Jesus into every area of your life. Don’t keep Him on the periphery; let Him into your heart, your mind, and your daily activities.
2. Spend Time with Him: Just like any other relationship, your friendship with Jesus requires time and attention. Spend time in prayer, reading the Bible, and worshiping Him.
3. Listen to His Voice: Jesus speaks to us in various ways—through His Word, through prayer, and through the Holy Spirit. Make it a habit to listen for His voice and follow His guidance.
4. Live Out His Teachings: Letting Jesus into every corner of your life means living out His teachings. Love your neighbors, forgive those who wrong you, and serve those in need.
