Jesus, Our Rescuer: Finding Peace Amidst Life’s Chaos

our rescuer

At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we often find ourselves reflecting on the profound truth that Jesus is our ultimate rescuer. In a world filled with chaos and busyness, it’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of life’s demands. Sometimes, events unfold that seem unfair, leaving us questioning ourselves and even God. Yet, amidst these trials, we hold onto a powerful truth: if our faith is in Jesus, our ultimate rescue is assured.

The Heart of Communion

During the Last Supper, Jesus met with His disciples and instituted the practice of communion, saying, “Do this in remembrance of me” (Luke 22:19). This act serves as a poignant reminder that our rescue is not found in the temporary solutions of this world but in the eternal promise of Jesus Christ. As we partake in communion, we remember that Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins, securing our place in His heavenly kingdom.

Study: Knowing and Loving God

At Lakeview Christian Church, our mission is to “Be the Change as Jesus has changed us.” We live out this mission through our “Just 3” principles: Study, Share, and Serve. The first principle, Study, encourages us to delve deep into God’s Word to know and love Him more intimately. By studying the Bible, we are reminded of God’s promises and His faithfulness, even in the midst of life’s uncertainties.

Scripture tells us, “The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory forever and ever. Amen” (2 Timothy 4:18). This verse reassures us that no matter what we face, God is our ultimate rescuer.

Share: Knowing and Loving Others

The second principle, Share, calls us to extend the love of Christ to others. In a world where many are searching for hope and answers, we have the privilege of sharing the good news of Jesus. By sharing our testimonies and the message of salvation, we offer others the same hope and assurance that we have found in Christ.

As Paul encouraged Timothy, we too can encourage others by saying, “Don’t worry about me. My future is secure in heaven by Jesus” (2 Timothy 4:18 paraphrased). Our confidence in Christ’s rescue allows us to be a beacon of hope to those around us.

Serve: Love in Action

The third principle, Serve, is about putting love into action. Jesus demonstrated the ultimate act of service by laying down His life for us. As His followers, we are called to serve others selflessly, reflecting His love and compassion. Whether it’s through acts of kindness, volunteering, or supporting those in need, our service is a tangible expression of Christ’s love.

In John 13:34-35, Jesus said, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Our service to others is a testament to our faith and a powerful witness to the world.

Conclusion

At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we are committed to being the change as Jesus has changed us. Through studying God’s Word, sharing His love, and serving others, we live out our mission and bring glory to His name. As we navigate the challenges of life, let us always remember that our ultimate rescue is found in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer.

Join us in this journey of faith, and together, let’s make a difference in our community and beyond. To God be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
