Embracing the Transformative Love of Jesus

love

At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, our mission is to “Be the Change” as Jesus has transformed us. This mission is embodied in our approach of “Just 3”: Study, Share, and Serve. As we journey through the Gospel of Luke, we are reminded of the profound love and purpose that Jesus exemplified, calling us to deepen our faith and live out His teachings in our daily lives.

Study: To Love and Know God

The sermon from Luke highlights the importance of understanding who Jesus is and the significance of His life and mission. Hebrews 5:8-9 tells us, “Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him.” This passage underscores the obedience and sacrifice of Jesus, which are central to our faith.

At Lakeview, we encourage everyone to engage in regular Bible study as a means to love and know God more deeply. By studying the Scriptures, we gain insight into the life of Jesus and His teachings, allowing us to grow closer to Him. As we walk through the book of Luke, we are invited to see how the stories of Jesus’ life bring us into a better relationship with Him, understanding that He is our hope and salvation.

Share: To Know and Love Others

The life of Jesus is a testament to the power of sharing love and truth with others. As a community, we are called to share the love of Christ with those around us, building relationships and fostering a sense of belonging. This involves not only proclaiming the Gospel but also listening and engaging with others in meaningful ways.

In our mission to “Be the Change,” sharing is about knowing and loving others as Jesus did. It is through these connections that we reflect the love of Christ and create a community where everyone feels valued and heard.

Serve: Love in Action

Serving others is a core aspect of our faith, as demonstrated by Jesus throughout His ministry. His life was marked by acts of love and service, culminating in the ultimate sacrifice on the cross. At Lakeview, we believe that serving is love in action, and it is through serving others that we demonstrate the love of Christ.

The sermon reminded us that Jesus’ mission was driven by His desire to fulfill His purpose. Similarly, we are called to serve with dedication and purpose, using our gifts and talents to make a difference in the lives of others. As we serve, we embody the love of Christ and become agents of change in the world.

Conclusion

As we journey through the Gospel of Luke, we are inspired by the life and mission of Jesus. At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, our commitment to “Be the Change” is rooted in the transformative power of Jesus’ love. Through “Just 3″—Study, Share, and Serve—we strive to grow in our relationship with God, build meaningful connections with others, and serve our community with love and compassion.

Let us continue to embrace the transformative love of Jesus, knowing that as we are changed by His love, we have the power to change the world around us. The question we must ask ourselves is: Will we put our trust and faith in Him, allowing His love to guide and transform us?
