A Community of Faith: Study, Share, Serve

community

At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we are blessed to be part of a unique community where we study, share, and serve together. Our mission is to “Be the change as Jesus has changed us,” and this is lived out through our commitment to these three key practices. Whether facing personal struggles, societal pressures, or persecution, our community is here to support and encourage one another.

The Importance of Community

The early church understood the power of community, gathering together for prayer, teaching, and fellowship. Acts 2:42 describes how they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. Similarly, our community at Lakeview Christian Church is committed to supporting one another in our spiritual journey.

Study: Knowing and Loving God

Studying Scripture is foundational to our faith, helping us grow in our knowledge and love for God. Psalm 119:105 describes God’s Word as a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. By immersing ourselves in Scripture, we gain wisdom and strength to navigate life’s challenges.

Share: Knowing and Loving Others

Sharing our lives and faith with others is essential to building genuine relationships. Hebrews 10:24-25 encourages us to spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together. By sharing our faith, we create a supportive community that reflects the love of Christ.

Serve: Love in Action

Serving others is a powerful expression of our faith, demonstrating the Gospel’s transformative power. Galatians 5:13 calls us to serve one another humbly in love. Through service, we embody the love of Christ and make a lasting impact on those around us.

Applying the “Just 3”

Our mission to study, share, and serve is not just a set of practices, but a way of life that transforms us and those around us. By applying these principles, we experience radical change and become powerful witnesses of Christ’s love. Romans 12:2 urges us not to conform to the pattern of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Conclusion

In a world that often values superficiality and quick fixes, our community at Lakeview Christian Church offers a deeper, more transformative solution. By committing to study, share, and serve, we live out our mission to “Be the change as Jesus has changed us.” Let us continue to support and encourage one another, standing firm in our faith and living boldly for Christ.
