Embracing God’s Purpose and Obedience

purpose

In the journey of faith, understanding and embracing God’s purpose for our lives is essential. We are not here by accident; God has placed us in our unique situations for a reason. At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we are called to “Be the change as Jesus has changed us,” and we do this through “Just 3” – Study, Share, Serve. Let’s explore how we can embrace God’s purpose and experience the blessings of obedience.

Understanding God’s Purpose

God has a unique purpose for each of us, and He calls us to make the most of our circumstances. By looking around and asking ourselves what God is calling us to do here and now, we can align our lives with His purpose. Esther 4:14 reminds us that we are placed in our positions for such a time as this.

Study: Discovering God’s Plan

To understand God’s purpose, we must immerse ourselves in His Word. The Bible is filled with stories of individuals who were used by God in extraordinary ways. By studying these accounts, we can gain insight into how God might be calling us to act. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” As we study Scripture, we allow God to illuminate our path and guide us in fulfilling His purpose.

Share: Encouraging Others in Faith

Sharing our journey of faith with others is a vital part of living out God’s purpose. When we share our stories of how God has worked in our lives, we encourage others to trust Him as well. Hebrews 10:24-25 encourages us to “consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another.” By sharing our experiences, we build a community of faith that supports and uplifts each other.

Serve: Living Out God’s Purpose

Serving others is a tangible way to live out God’s purpose. Jesus exemplified servanthood, and as His followers, we are called to do the same. Galatians 5:13 reminds us, “For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” When we serve, we become the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing His love and hope to those around us.

Conclusion

As we navigate the journey of faith, let us remember that we are not here by accident. God has placed us in our unique situations for a reason, and He calls us to embrace His purpose and be obedient to His call. At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we are committed to “Be the change as Jesus has changed us” through “Just 3” – Study, Share, Serve. By understanding God’s purpose, sharing our faith, and serving others, we can experience the fullness of His blessings and be a light in the world.
