Jesus’ Radical Inclusion and the Role of Women

role

At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we strive to “Be the change as Jesus has changed us.” A key aspect of this mission is recognizing the radical inclusion demonstrated by Jesus, particularly in His interactions with women. Jesus treated women with respect, love, and equality, setting a powerful example for us to follow.

Study: Jesus’ Interactions with Women

Throughout the New Testament, we see Jesus breaking cultural norms by engaging with women in meaningful ways. He spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well, offering her living water (John 4:1-42). He defended the woman caught in adultery, showing her mercy and compassion (John 8:1-11). Jesus’ treatment of women was revolutionary, affirming their worth and dignity.

Share: The Pivotal Role of Women in the Gospel

Women were not only present but pivotal in the spreading of the Gospel message. Mary Magdalene was the first to witness the resurrected Christ and was entrusted with the message of His resurrection (John 20:11-18). This highlights the important role women played in the early church and their continued impact today.

Serve: Embracing Equality and Inclusion

As a church, we are called to follow Jesus’ example of inclusion and equality. This means recognizing and valuing the contributions of women in all areas of ministry. By doing so, we create a community that reflects the love and inclusivity of Christ.

Conclusion

Jesus’ radical inclusion challenges us to be the change as He has changed us. At Lakeview Christian Church, we are committed to embracing this mission by studying His Word, sharing His love, and serving others. Together, we can continue the story of Jesus, making a lasting impact for His Kingdom.
