The Mindfulness of God – A Personal Reflection

mindful

In the vastness of the universe, it is both humbling and awe-inspiring to consider that the Creator of all things is mindful of each one of us. At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we are reminded of this profound truth through our mission to “Be the change as Jesus has changed us.” This mission is lived out through “Just 3” – Study, Share, Serve. Today, we delve into the incredible reality that God is mindful of us, individually and personally.

Study: Understanding God’s Mindfulness Psalm 8:3-4 captures the essence of God’s mindfulness: “When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?” This scripture invites us to study and reflect on the greatness of God and His intimate concern for us.

  • Reflect on God’s Creation: As we study the scriptures, we are invited to marvel at the intricacies of creation. The heavens declare the glory of God (Psalm 19:1), and yet, amidst this grandeur, God is mindful of us individually. This mindfulness is not a distant or abstract concept; it is deeply personal and specific. God knows us by name (Isaiah 43:1) and has counted every hair on our heads (Matthew 10:30). This personal attention is a testament to His love and care.
  • Personal Reflection: Consider the personal nature of God’s love. In a world where we often feel insignificant, the knowledge that God is mindful of us can transform our perspective. It is a reminder that we are valued and cherished by the Creator of the universe. This understanding should lead us to a deeper appreciation of our relationship with God and inspire us to live in a way that honors Him.

Share: Communicating God’s Personal Love Sharing the message of God’s mindfulness is essential in helping others understand their worth and value in His eyes.

  • Testimonies of God’s Care: Encourage members of Lakeview Christian Church to share personal stories of how they have experienced God’s mindfulness in their lives. These testimonies can inspire and uplift others, providing tangible examples of God’s love and care. Whether it’s a moment of answered prayer, a sense of peace in difficult times, or a blessing that seemed to come out of nowhere, sharing these experiences can help others see God’s hand in their own lives.
  • Building Community: Create spaces within the church where individuals can share their experiences and support one another, fostering a community that reflects God’s love and mindfulness. Small groups, prayer meetings, and fellowship events can provide opportunities for members to connect and encourage one another.

Serve: Living Out God’s Mindfulness Serving others is a tangible expression of God’s mindfulness and love.

  • Acts of Kindness: Encourage acts of kindness that demonstrate God’s care for individuals. Whether through volunteering, providing meals, or simply listening, these acts reflect God’s love. Serving others with intentionality and compassion can make a significant impact, showing them that they are seen and valued.
  • Supporting the Vulnerable: Focus on serving those who may feel forgotten or overlooked, reminding them of their value in God’s eyes. This could involve reaching out to the elderly, supporting single parents, or providing assistance to those facing financial difficulties. By serving the vulnerable, we embody the love and mindfulness of God.

Conclusion: As we reflect on the mindfulness of God, let us be inspired to study His word, share His love, and serve others with the same care and attention He shows us. At Lakeview Christian Church, we are committed to being the change as Jesus has changed us, living out His love in our community and beyond. Let us embrace the incredible truth that God is mindful of us and allow it to transform our lives and the lives of those around us.
