Rejecting Idolatry: Finding Fulfillment in Christ Alone

fulfillment

In a world full of distractions and false promises, it’s easy to seek fulfillment in things that ultimately disappoint. The Thessalonian church understood this and chose to turn away from idols, finding true fulfillment in Christ alone. At Lakeview Christian Church of Portage Lakes, we are called to do the same.

Scripture Reference:

  • 1 John 5:21 – “Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.”

Idolatry is not just about worshiping physical statues; it’s about placing anything above God in our lives. The Thessalonians knew that idols were liars, offering false hope and satisfaction. Instead, they embraced the love and acceptance found in Jesus, allowing it to transform their lives every day.

Mission Alignment: Serve
Our mission to “Serve” is about putting love into action. By rejecting idolatry and serving others with the love of Christ, we can demonstrate the true fulfillment that comes from knowing Him. Let us serve with joy, knowing that our actions reflect the love and grace of our Savior.

Call to Action:
Join us in our mission to “Be the Change” by identifying and rejecting the idols in your life. Serve others with the love of Christ, and experience the true fulfillment that only He can provide.
